From a moving truck on the CMS-Marina Bridge in Lagos, a man named Austine and his associates stole wigs worth ₦20 million.
In a statement released on Thursday, Lagos State Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed specifics of the crime.
According to Hundeyin, Austine and his group targeted a truck that was transporting a sizable bag full of various human hair extensions on April 25.
According to Hundeyin, the incident happened as the vehicle crossed the CMS-Marina Bridge without the driver’s knowledge.
He mentioned that following a tip, Austine was eventually caught by police in the Marina parking lot beneath the bridge.
Benjamin claimed that Austine hurt himself when he leaped from the bridge into the parking lot to avoid being arrested.
Benjamin stated, “Under strict police supervision, he was discovered in possession of the stolen items and has been taken to a hospital for proper medical attention.”
In order to apprehend additional members of his group, the policeman further revealed that a manhunt is presently in progress.
CP Olohundare Jimoh, the Commissioner of Police, asked citizens to stay vigilant and assist security forces by reporting any suspicious activity.
