A Part Of Ooni Of Ife’s Palace Gutted By Fire

On Wednesday,The inferno which started by 1:14 pm lasted for 20 minutes affected a building inside the Ile Oodua’s Palace of Ooni of Ife was gutted by fire.

According to reports it burnt some upholstery chairs and other household equipment.It  also blew off the roof of the building which belongs to one of the palace chiefs and was caused by a power surge.

Although a source in the Palace confirmed the incident, he said:

“It is not major, people are only scared because the entrance to the palace was locked.”

Also confirming the incident is Fatai Aremu, the Administrative Officer of the State Fire Service who said his men are trying to put the fire out.
