During a news conference on Wednesday, Atiku made the shocking assertion while describing the circumstances surrounding an attack on his inauguration ceremony in Abuja.
Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, has been accused by Atiku Abubakar Isah, the president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), of trying to bribe him with N100 million in order to influence his goals.
The shocking assertion was made by Atiku on Wednesday at a news conference as he described the circumstances surrounding an attack on his inauguration ceremony in Abuja.
Atiku claims that in an attempt to change his mind, Seyi Tinubu made the proposition to him.
The bribe was turned down by the NANS president, who called it an attempt to influence student leadership.
The inaugural celebration on Tuesday was disrupted by thugs associated with Seyi Tinubu, which Atiku described as “a violent response” to his refusal.
At the opening of the association, Atiku provided these data.
He clarified that Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, had invited him to Lagos for a meeting. Atiku stated at the encounter, “The Youth Minister in Lagos gave me a hug when he saw me. After our conversation, I was given an offer of N100 million. The problem is that money isn’t the only factor. I have some values that I uphold.
“If a president hasn’t done anything, you can’t ask me to start promoting him so I can pretend he has done it. I’ll give him a promotion if he works well. As commander-in-chief and president, we will stand by him. But you can’t tell me to remain quiet where he is.
He added that they plotted his kidnapping after he rejected the money.
“On April 15, I was kidnapped. Along with the NTA MD, I was stripped naked and severely assaulted. Our package to make an involuntary declaration that I had resigned as president of NANS was the MD of NTA. I immediately issued a press release claiming that I was coerced into doing so in order to obtain my freedom. I was thrashed because I was nude. Atiku said, “They said they would distribute the video.”
He went on: “They assured me that sharing the film would not have any consequences and that Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up even if they killed me. Ladoja, one of the participants, threatened to leave if the police didn’t comply and that he would give the Inspector General of Police instructions to cover it up.
Atiku continued by saying that he was unflinching in the face of the threats.
“I made it plain that I would still be present in this hall even if I were shot. I was proclaimed president, and the inauguration went forward. I want the people of Nigeria to understand what has transpired and that we will not give up. “We are determined,” he continued, “but Seyi Tinubu can do whatever he wants.”
According to him, the inauguration was hurried and ill-prepared.
“The organization was incorrect, as you can see. The MC was instructed to begin without following any procedures,” he stated, emphasizing the significance of combating criminal elements and cultism among the student body.
“The cults will be fought. We will remove the touts and cult members from NANS. All they are is a group of criminals. We’ve come to fight against politicians who recruit them to do whatever they want.
Atiku denounced Seyi Tinubu as a poor role model for Nigerian youth and cautioned that the country would suffer if he were to gain power in Lagos.
“Seyi Tinubu sets a very poor example for the youth of Nigeria,” he remarked. His appointment as Lagos State’s governor would be the worst thing that could happen to Nigeria. He’s not ashamed. He is a characterless person. Someone has hit me nude. On his phone, he has my footage. If we lived in a nation where justice is served, they would track down the footage on his phone and bring charges against him.
He stated that the footage was also in the possession of the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs.
“The secretary claimed to have seen my nude video while they were assaulting me when we went to deliver a letter to the Minister of Defense. Atiku added, “It’s on his phone as well.”
Atiku cautioned in his final remarks that the authorities were mistaking the wrong individual.
“The genuine alternative for them is to do the correct thing, or they should immediately destroy my life,” he declared.
