After a video of his purportedly ill father appeared on a microblogging service, Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, better known online as Asake, became popular.
Asake’s purported father, Fatai Odunsi, also known as Malo, had appealed to Nigerians for assistance in order to heal himself.
The man asked his putative wife to act as a mediator between him and his son, Asake, during the said conversation. He claims that in order for the musician to send him money to cover his rent, his estranged wife should speak with Asake on his behalf.
She reportedly prayed for him to get well quickly and get back on his feet. But according to the wife, who went to his son’s concert overseas, she didn’t have the money to cover her estranged husband’s therapy. Additionally, Asake’s purported mother avoided discussing the singer’s father’s health with him.
