BREAKING: Angry Youths Set Late Hanifa’s School On Fire

Angry youths have burnt down Noble Kids Academy in Kawaji, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

Hanifa Abubakar, the five-year-old pupil who was abducted and killed by her proprietor, was a student of the school.

Kano State Government last Friday ordered the immediate closure of the private school where Hanifa was abducted on December 2 by her teacher, Abdulmalik Tanko, who is also the proprietor of the private school

Abdulmalik Tanko the proprietor of the school later confessed killing her with rat poison.

Tanko led police officers to the school premises where the remains of Hanifa were found buried in a shallow grave.

The body had been dismembered before being buried. The remains were then exhumed for medical examination ahead of proper burial by her family.

The state police said Abdulmalik confessed to the killing of Hanifa after demanding N6 million ransom from her family.

Kano police spokesman Haruna Kiyawa said in a statement “On investigation, Abdulmalik confessed that the victim, Hanifa was his student at a private school in Kwanar Dakata, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State,”.

“He kidnapped her and took her to his house where he contacted her relatives and demanded a ransom of Six Million Naira (N6,000,000).”

Mr Tanko, however was arrested by the police and will be charged to court soon.

Commending the detectives who nabbed Tanko, President Muhammadu Buhari assured Nigerians that justice will be served.

The police spokesperson, Abbdullahi Kiyawa, on Monday morning said the angry youth set the school on fire in the middle of the night adding that there was no casualty in the incident, but part of the school building was razed.
