VeryDarkMan apparently complained about frequent debits from his mother’s account in the pretense of loan repayments, which prompted GTBank to order the arrest.

“The Nigerian police arrested my client, VeryDarkMan, in Abuja today,” Adeyanju stated. His only transgression was disclosing that his mother’s GTBank account had been repeatedly and suspiciously debited for debts she never took out.

VeryDarkMan previously voiced his worries on social media regarding several withdrawals from his mother’s account.

He disclosed in a post that has now gone viral that they went to an Abuja GTBank branch to get a copy of her bank statement and to demand an explanation. Fashion in Nigeria

In a separate incident, Ariyo Ahmed Adewale claimed that Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) had planned his arrest after he protested inside one of its Lagos branches about the purported disappearance of cash from his account .

Ariyo said that after learning that his account had been used for unauthorized transactions totaling more than ₦2 million, he had gone to the GTBank office in the Kosofe neighborhood of Lagos to seek answers. According to him, the transactions were connected to Jumia, an online marketplace that he claims he has never utilized.

“On Saturday, the 7th of last week, I realized that N2,000,000 had been withdrawn from my GTBank account without my approval,” claimed Ariyo.

“I called GTBank customer service right once after noticing the transaction to report the issue and ask that my account be frozen. Regretfully, the number of unauthorized transactions had already escalated before they could take action.

He said that Ariyo refuted the bank’s claim that his debit card was used on Jumia for the transactions.

“In my life, I have never utilized Jumia. I had my card on me the whole time, and I didn’t authorize any purchases or payments. I had my phone with me, too, and no one else had it,” he added.
