BREAKING: Nigerian Club, Shooting Stars Manager Is Dead.

 Rashidi Balogun, the General Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Shooting Stars, is dead.

 Rashidi Balogun, the General Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Shooting Stars, is dead.

Balogun passed on aged 62.

Although, the cause of his death could not be immediately established, we learnt that Balogun died on Thursday night.

Late Balogun’s employers, 3SC, was one of the founders of the Nigerian Premier League in 1972, when they were known as WNDC Ibadan (Western Nigeria Development Company), and were later named IICC (Industrial Investment and Credit Corporation) Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

Shooting Stars is one of the most followed football clubs in Nigeria and play their home matches at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Also, it is is one of the most decorated clubsides in the country, alongside Enugu Rangers and the defunct Stationery Stores of Lagos. In fact, Shooting Stars and Enugu Rangers are known as the traditional football clubs in the country, both dominating the football scene in the country during 1970s and 1980s.

On the pitch of play, it is not the best of times for the Oyo-based club, as they are currently 19th on the NPFL table, with six points from seven games.
