According to Pavel Durov, the creator and CEO of Telegram, he intends to bequeath his estimated $17 billion wealth to his 106 biological children, but not until 2055.
The 40-year-old internet entrepreneur stated in an interview with the French magazine Le Point on Thursday that the delay is necessary to make sure his kids become self-sufficient before they can receive the inheritance.
“I wrote my will very recently,” he said. I made the decision that my children would not be able to access my inheritance until thirty years had passed, beginning today.
I want them to live their lives normally, to establish themselves on their own, to develop self-confidence, to be able to produce without relying on a bank account. To be clear, I do not distinguish between my children—some derived from my sperm donations and others that were conceived organically.
“They will all have the same rights since they are all my children. After I’m gone, I don’t want them to rip each other apart.
Six of the children were created organically with three separate women, according to Durov, while the remaining offspring were born through sperm donation in twelve different nations during the previous fifteen years.
I am the legal father of six of them, and I had them with three different partners. My anonymous donation is the source of the others. More than 100 babies had been conceived in 12 countries using this method, according to the clinic where I began sperm donation fifteen years ago to support a friend, he added.
Bloomberg and Forbes estimate that each child might inherit between $131 million and $161 million based on his current net wealth.
The revelation coincides with Durov’s legal troubles in France.
When he arrived from Azerbaijan on a private plane in August 2024, he was arrested at Bourget Airport, which is close to Paris.

The revelation is made as Durov deals with legal issues in France.
He was arrested in August 2024 while traveling from Azerbaijan in a private plane at Bourget Airport, which is close to Paris.
