Construction of the 4th Mainland bridge to commence in the first quarter of 2021 – Dep. Gov Lagos State

Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State while discussing on an online show hosted by Dayo Israel on Tuesday spoke on the Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu – Dr Obafemi Hamzat administration in the last one year and how the present admistration as the state was agressively pursuing various infrastructural renewal program to make life abundant for the residents.

He also stated that the completion of the bridge would help ease transportation in the state and help break the traffic congestion in the state.

He said:

”The project is key for our administration and we flagged the construction of regional roads within VGC two days ago, the project has been awarded to Hi-Tech company.

‘First Quater of next year (2021), we will be able to start. Early next year, construction will start on the 4th Mainland Bridge.

‘Regional Road is to be done for the survival of the Fourth Mainland Bridge to help us break away traffic from the Lekki-Epe Expressway.Regional road will increase the viability of the 4th Mainland Bridge”

He described the project as a very big one which would require alot of money and that the Govt is looking for patnerships with private organisations. According to him, 32 consultiums put in interest in the bid and the Government had been able to narrow it down to 9.

The Deputy Governor also stated that the Govt had been funding aggresively road infrastructure , said that the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway would unlock the tourism potential in Badagry, and that the administration would not relent on growing and being better especially in terms of infrastructure.
