Dele Momodu, The Only Candidate From The North Who Can Defeat Tinubu In 2027

In the 2027 presidential election, only a candidate from the north can defeat President Bola Tinubu Momodu, according to veteran journalist and PDP chieftain Dele Momodu.

In an interview with Arise News on Wednesday, Momodu maintained that Tinubu, who is most likely to run for a second term, is too strong for any politician from the South to beat.

I have a hypothesis. “And the theory is straightforward,” he stated. That only a Northerner can defeat Tinubu this time. It would be a waste of time for any Southerner to say, “I want to run against Tinubu.”

According to Momodu, President Tinubu has demonstrated a great desire to hold onto office, and a number of Southern political leaders seem to be supporting him for a second term.

Tinubu is adamant about staying in his role. He desires another chance. “We want him there,” he remarked, referring to the sentiment of Southerners.

But by portraying Tinubu’s reelection as a “southern project,” he cautioned that it might alienate other areas, especially the North, and spark opposition.

That error occurred on June 12. The Yoruba mandate was created when we changed Abiola’s national mandate. He said, “I see Tinubu’s people making the same mistake in judgment right now.”

Speaking on the North’s rising discontent with Tinubu’s appointment and governing practices, the PDP leader asserted that the area feels cut off from his government.

The majority of Tinubu’s appointees are cronies who have infiltrated our political system. Naturally, the North feels wronged. They attacked Buhari as soon as he departed, even though they claimed to support you.

The PDP leader also discussed the growing discontent in the North with Tinubu’s appointment and governance practices, asserting that the area feels cut off from his government.

When I look at Tinubu’s cabinet today, people claim that because he is a Yoruba man, he is appointing Yoruba individuals. But it’s about his own particular pals, not even Yoruba,” he continued.

The path to 2027 will be determined by opposition tactics as well as internal politics within the ruling APC, according to Momodu.

“Any opposition alliance, including the PDP, would probably support a candidate from the north to run against Tinubu,” he said.

“Power is something that the PDP, coalition, or whatever you call them, also wants.” According to Isaac Newton’s theory, which holds that acts and reactions are always equal and opposing, it is the only way they can gain force. Consequently, they will arrive from the other direction.

Despite praising Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Momodu denied that he or any Yoruba contender could overthrow Tinubu.

“I’ve heard a Yoruba individual express his desire to run for office. Governor Seyi Makinde is a man I like, but I understand that it is not possible in the long run,” he remarked.
