According to report, Francis Okiye, The Speaker Of The Edo State House Of Assembly has been impeached.
The impeachment was due to a motion by Henry okhuarobo The Majority Leader of the house on alleged highhandedness of the speaker.
His impeachment letter was signed by 9 out of 10 lawmakers who were present for plenary today October 12.
A new speaker was enthroned immediately by the honourable house. Marcus Onobun dissolved all existing house commitees and laid off all the apointees of the house
A new committee which is saddled with the responsibility to look into the financial history of the former speaker was constituted by Onobun.
