Alhaji Ahmad Umar Mai-Kwatarkwashi the long-lasting Emir in Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State is dead.
Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe in a statement disclosed that he died at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.
His burial prayer was scheduled for 6:30pm yesterday at his palace in Kwatarkwashi.
Mai Kwatarkwashi was crowned by Sultan Abubakar III on March 17, 1961.
He was the eldest and longest-serving emir in Zamfara State with 61 years on the throne.
