Fastest & Easy Way To Link NIN With Your MTN & Others Network Provider.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecommunications operators (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9Mobile, and others) in the country some weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered or link with the National Identity Numbers (NIN).

This means that the failure of the subscribers to register and link he/she National Identity Numbers (NIN) will lead to the blocking or disconnection of the line, despite the huge public outcry against the sudden announcement of the policy and short time frame to implement it.

To prevent your phone number from blocking, here’s the fastest way to Link NIN With Your MTN, Airtel, Glo, & 9mobile Number.

1. MTN USERS

Option 1.

To link your your NIN with your MTN SIM using USSD, follow the steps below:

  1. Dial *785# using the MTN you wish to perform the linking on.
  2. Type 1 for “Enter your 11-digit NIN” and send.
  3. Enter your 11–digit NIN and send.

Wait for the network to give a confirmation of your submission. You may get a message saying “Network error.”

Don’t panic if you do! Just wait for some time and try it again.

Option 2.

To link your NIN with your MTN phone number, carry out the following steps:

  1. Visit https://mtnonline.com/nim/ using your phone or computer
  2. Complete the NIN linking form by entering your name, phone number, NIN, and email address.
  3. Submit the form as soon as you’re done.
  4. Wait for feedback from the network in a couple of days.
2. AIRTEL USERS

To link your NIN to your Airtel phone number, follow the steps below:

  1. Dial *121# on the Airtel line you wish to link.
  2. Type 1 for “NIN Capture” and send
  3. Enter your 11–digit NIN and send.

Wait for the message confirming your submission. If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again.

Alternatively, visit https://www.airtel.com.ng/nin on your phone or computer and complete the online registration form to link your NIN to your Airtel line.

3 GLO USERS

Option 1

All Globacom customers can now link their National Identification Number (NIN) to their mobile numbers by simply sending ‘UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName’ to 109. For example, send ‘UPDATENIN 12345678903 Chidera Abdul-Ola’ to 109”, Globacom said in a press release issued in Lagos.

Option Two:

The network explained that the shortcode is to simplify the process of compliance with the new directive by NCC adding that this was part of its avowed commitment to seeing that its teeming customers have unhindered access to its products and services.

Customers who have already registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) can dial *346# to retrieve it.

The statement advised Glo customers to contact any of its customer contact channels or visit https://www.gloworld.com/ng/nin​ for further support and inquiries.

4 9MOBILE USERS

OPTION 1

  • Dial *200*8# on your 9Mobile line.
  • Enter your NIN and press send.
  • Wait for feedback from the network confirming your successful submission
OTHER OPTION:

To link your number;

  • For 9mobile users, you simply visit the nearest office of your service provider to submit/link your NIN.
  • Go with your NIN and SIM pack
  • Alternatively, call the customer care line of your service provider.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • It can be recalled that following the directive of NCC to telecommunication operators on a 2-week ultimatum to disconnect sim cards not registered with NIN; the NIMC warned the general public to beware of fraudsters and scammers who are on the prowl to swindle unsuspecting people.
  • NIMC said that Nigerians already enrolled in the NIMC scheme but have lost their NIN should dial *346# to retrieve the NIN. It also said that USSD code is available on MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile
