To commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day, the federal government has proclaimed Thursday, May 1, 2025, a public holiday.
The government reaffirmed that industrialization and economic expansion depend on peace.
In a statement issued on Tuesday on behalf of the Federal Government, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo revealed this.
The greatness of the nation and the respect Nigeria enjoys in the international community are largely due to the hard work and sacrifice of its workers, Tunji-Ojo said.
“Dedication and commitment to our work are essential to nation-building; there is dignity in labor,” the minister stated.
Accordingly, Tunji-Ojo encouraged employees to embrace a culture of creativity and efficiency.
He urged workers to improve their standards in order to push and elevate government and ensure that everyone in Nigeria benefits as much as possible from the country’s wealth.
He gave the populace the assurance that “this Administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigners in the country.”
“As the current administration of President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to the Renewed Hope Agenda he has promised,” he continued, wishing workers a joyous celebration.
