A number of outdated cellphones, such as the Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, as well as early Android versions like the Samsung Galaxy S III, are no longer officially supported by WhatsApp.
With effect from Sunday, June 1, 2025, users who are still using devices released in or before 2014 will no longer be able to access the messaging platform, which will now require a minimum of iOS 15.1 or Android 5.0 to function.
The following phones are no longer compatible with WhatsApp:
