‘I am no longer impressed with his insincere tears’.Mr Eyo Ekpo rebukes Gov. Ben Ayade

A few days ago at the inauguration of an anti-tax agency which was led by Bishop Emma Isong, Governor Ben Ayade burst into tears as he regretted bitterly saying that despite all readiness and enthusiasm since his administration started in 2015, he has not been able to eradicate the lingering poverty and sufferings of the people in the state.

However Mr Eyo Ekpo, former commissioner for Justice and Attorney General in Cross river state during Donald Dukes tenure expressed his displeasure at the act displayed by Gov Ayade.

Mr Eyo Ekpo in a statement released yesterday in Calabar wondered why Gov Ayade would display such a childish show by bursting into tears.

He said:

“Five years down the road, I am no longer impressed with his insincere tears.  Are those tears for real?

“I wonder how the governor’s tears square up with the 5 years of pursuing grandiose projects that he knows would never be financed. He still went ahead to award consulting contracts, land clearing contracts that deprived the same people for whom he’s shedding hot years. Rather than care for them, he spent money that should have gone into education and valuable sectors like health.”
