Lagos Receives 203 Nigerians Who Have Returned From Libya.

On Monday, 203 vulnerable Nigerian returnees from Libya were greeted by the Lagos Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant parties.

The returnees landed at the Cargo Terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, according to a statement posted on NEMA’s official X handle on Tuesday.

According to the agency, the returnees boarded a Boeing chartered jet operated by Al Buraq, registered 5A-BAC, and arrived at 19:00.

According to the statement, “There were 50 men, 96 women, 29 children, and 28 babies among the returnees.” The International Organization for Migration, with the assistance of NEMA, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services, the Port Health Services, the Nigeria Police Force, the National Commission for Refugees, and the Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons Offices, provided the necessary assistance to the returnees.

Two medical cases among the returnees were also reported by NEMA.

The statement stated, “Two medical cases occurred, and the patients were moved to New Ikeja Hospitals for treatment.”

The returnees were required to undergo biometric and profile procedures after their arrival. “The returnees were transferred to the Igando Internally Displaced Persons resettlement center for additional reintegration program following the required biometric and profiling exercise,” the organization said.
