Mercy Johnson-Okojie, a Nollywood actress, talked candidly about her cancer fear, which led to her doctors prescribing lifelong medicine.
In an interview with veteran actress Joke Silva for her cooking program Mercy’s Menu, which was released on Thursday, she revealed the information.
The actress also disclosed that she was put on lifelong, rigorous medicine after having surgery to remove her thyroid, a gland in her throat.
The actress described how she handled the matter at the time with her spouse, Odi Okojie.
Mercy stated, “I’ve never talked about my experience having my thyroid removed after having a cancer scare. For us, it resembled a journey. We had children, and I was six months pregnant at the time.
“We said that we must realize that this is the new us. Let’s go have the procedure. When we visited, they informed me that I would need to take medicine for the remainder of my life.
We had to sit down; it was a fact. They are giving me a deadline so that I can’t skip my prescription. The first thing you do when you wake up is to inform me about all the negative affects.
