On Monday, Minister of NDDC Godswill Akpabio who appeared before the panel to explain the allegations against him on mismanagement of funds stated while being drilled by the National Assembly that most of the lawmakers are beneficiaries of the NDDC contracts.
He said:
“Just look at your Chairman, I have records to show that most of the NDDC contracts were given out to the National Assembly Members. The two Chairmen of both Committees can explain to you.”
However, the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila gave Akpabio an ultimatum of 48hours to provide the names of the lawmakers who are beneficiaries of the commission’s contracts and that he should also provide the list of the companies and the contracts they have been executing.
