President Bola Tinubu ordered the release of 114 #EndBadGovernance protesters on Monday. Thirty of them are children. They have now arrived at the State House Auditorium in Abuja.
Around 2:00 p.m., they were brought to the building and greeted by Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tinubu’s behalf. They were then given to their state leaders.
Lateef Fagbemi, who is the Attorney-General of the Federation, helped get them released.
The protesters’ case was thrown out by Justice Obiora Egwatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja after the Office of the Attorney-General asked him to do so.
Vice President of the Senate Jubrin Barau, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation Abubakar Bichi, and the Governors of Kaduna (Uba Sani) and Kano (Abba Yusuf) are all there.
People from the ministries of education (Tunji Alausa), humanitarian aid and poverty reduction (Nentawe Yilwatda), and the environment (Balarabe Lawal) are also at the event.
Tanko Sununu, who is the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Abdullahi Yakasai, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (Northwest), are two others.
