Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, two members of the House of Representatives who were elected on Thursday on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
During Thursday’s plenary, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read the defection notices.
The Kano MPs who represent the Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituency and Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya constituencies based their defection on what they described as “the internal crisis rocking the NNPP.”
Oluwole Oke, a member of the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, also formally declared his intention to switch to the APC.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, attended the plenary to express support for the defectors.
