Obi Says That ADC Coalition Will Prioritize Nigerians

Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has stated that Nigerians will always be the first priority in all choices made by the African Democratic Congress alliance.

In order to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the general elections of 2027, Obi reiterated his support for the ADC being chosen as the coalition platform.

The former Anambra governor stated in a post on his X handle on Thursday that the coalition’s decision to come together under the ADC was not made hastily but rather following “deep reflection” on Nigeria’s current situation and the pressing need for a new course.

According to Obi, the action was motivated by a desire to lead Nigeria with competence and compassion.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) was formally adopted by the coalition members yesterday for the 2027 Nigeria General Elections, with H.E. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola serving as the National Secretary and Distinguished Senator David Mark as the National Chairman,” Obi wrote.

“We pledge to make sacrifices and cooperate in the run-up to the 2027 General Elections, guaranteeing that Nigeria elects a capable, capable, and caring leadership that will put the welfare of Nigerians first and prioritize the country’s future.”

Obi said, “No one group can change Nigeria alone,” underscoring the significance of cooperation among opposition forces.

“We must build bridges, not walls, even when those bridges are uncomfortable, in order to dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity.”

The alliance, which included prominent political personalities like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Obi, and other opposition leaders, formally announced the ADC as its new platform on Wednesday at the Yar’Adua Center in Abuja.
