The palace of Olubadan in Ibadanland has denied reports that Oba Owolabi Olakulehin has passed away, stating that the king is still alive and well.
Solomon Ayoade, the Olubadan of Ibadanland’s Chief Press Secretary, called the rumor untrue.
There were rumors that the traditional king had joined his forefathers on Monday night.
The rumor that the traditional monarch had been transported out of town for medical treatment was also refuted by Ayoade.
“There was nothing of such an incident by the time I left the palace around 8 pm,” he stated. Everything was going smoothly. No catastrophe arose. After I left, I got in touch with the palace, and they informed me that Baba was well.
“Amala was just finished by the Olubadan. He is healthy and in good health. This is merely a rumor. Nothing like that exists.
“Baba remains in Ibadan.” Nowhere was he flown. He’s doing great.
