At its training site in Trigoria, the team is planting new trees in observance of Earth Day, which falls on April 22 each year.
Reiterating the club’s dedication to protecting the environment, some AS Roma academy players planted fresh trees at the training facility in honor of Earth Day (April 22).
The Centro Sportivo’s energy efficiency has been increased, and the training center’s natural surroundings in the Decima Malafede Nature Reserve have been improved as part of a broader initiative that includes the environmental regeneration project at AS Roma’s headquarters.
“Along with planting new trees and bushes, the initiative also entails maintaining the current plants, especially the ones that are unstable.
The local wildlife finds the perfect home when the terrain is improved since it increases biodiversity, lowers CO2 emissions, and increases the value of nature.
Over the course of 2025, 289 trees will be planted; the project has been split into two seasonal phases: 115 trees will be planted beginning in November, and 174 trees have already been planted between late January and mid-February.
AS Roma’s training facility will have 407 new trees by the project’s conclusion, all of which were planted throughout the previous two years. To guarantee that they would adapt to the local ecosystem and have a beneficial, long-lasting effect on the environment, these trees were chosen from among native species.
The project aims to draw attention to the club’s long-term goals regarding environmental sustainability and taking care of the area where it operates on a daily basis, in addition to symbolically commemorating Earth Day.
