Tuesday saw a further decline in the value of the naira, which had dropped from N1,610 to N1,615 per dollar the day before to N1,615 per dollar in the parallel market.
The naira also lost value, falling to N1,602 per dollar on the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
Indicative exchange rates increased to N1,602 per dollar from N1,596 on Monday, indicating an N6 decline in the value of the local currency, according to data issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Consequently, the difference between the official NFEM rate and the parallel market rate decreased somewhat to N13 per dollar from N14 per dollar on Monday.
