PDP, barred at Federal High Court from conducting Edo governorship primaries.

The Edo state chapter of Umbrella party (PDP) has been barred from conducting the governorship primary election by the Nigeria Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, which is set to hold on June 25th 2020.

Monday, June 22, a suit was brought in court by Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, a candidate for governorship of the Umbrella party(PDP) following a dispute about his removal from his position for Governor Godwin Obaseki who migrated from APC to PDP earlier this month.

The judge presiding over the case, granted the experte order and allowed the defendant to serve the parties in the suit through substituted means, in two national dailies, and adjourned the case till June 24 for hearing of the summon.
