The well-known TikToker Peller has issued a public apology for calling Afrobeats singer Runtown a “up-and-coming artist” in a recent livestream.
Peller’s remark caused a lot of social media outrage, with many people denouncing his seeming disrespect for Runtown’s well-established career.
Peller acknowledged knowing who Runtown was on a recent livestream with Elizabeth Amoudu, but he clarified that he was “too young” to be aware with the singer’s music at its height.
“I was too young to even use a phone when I was listening to Runtown’s music at the time,” he said, pleading for mercy.
When Runtown is Runtown, Peller never shows up.
Forgive the poor guy, please. Give him some air. We won’t be shamed by God. My brothers and sisters, I apologize.
