President Buhari To Depart For Guinea Bissau In Order To Attend Events To Commemorate Its National Day

On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari would depart Abuja for Guinea Bissau to attend events to celebrate the 47th Independence Anniversary of Guinea Bissau.

In attendance would be the presidents of Senegal, Cote d’ Ivoire, Rwanda, Mauritania, Togo and Liberia.

Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, stated that Mr. President would also commission a road named in his honour adding that the president and other invited leaders will also attend an official lunch to be hosted by President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea Bissau.

According to the statement, the president will be accompanied by top government officials, who include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Defence, Major-General Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd.), the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd.) and the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar,

It added that Buhari will return to Abuja at the end of the ceremonies on same day(Thursday).
