Prophet Fufeyin’s Miraculous Water And Soap Are Fake, NAFDAC Warns

The public has been cautioned by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, or NAFDAC, not to nationalize drinking water, soap, perfume, or other goods made by Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, or CMDM, as these are counterfeit goods.
The ministry’s founder and lead prophet, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, is based in Effurun, Delta State.

The items, which include “Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, Father Smelled Perfume,” have been the subject of controversy. This is because social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has claimed that the products are not endorsed by NAFDAF.

In response, the agency issued a statement on Sunday stating that the Miracle Water, Miracle Soap, and Miracle Perfume manufactured by the ministry were all fakes and cautioning the public not to associate them with their nationality.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) wishes to alert the public on the activities of a faith-based organization – Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries – that uses NAFDAC’s name to deceive unsuspecting public. The statement is signed by Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, the Director General of NAFDAC.

The Spiritual Ministry has been selling Miracle Water and Miracle Soap to the public, promising healing and miracles, and Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, KM 5 Effurun, Sapele Road, Delta State, has been the subject of numerous petitions from concerned citizens that NAFDAC has received recently.

“On social media, the minister demonstrated how Miracle Water and Miracle Soap may treat infertility. If the women used the soap, he said, they would become pregnant with twins. He said in front of his congregation that the soap is registered with NAFDAC. People started coming into the office to verify the claims as a result.

The petitioners also sent the following Spiritual Ministry items to NAFDAC in order to corroborate the false claims, according to NAFDAF. The items are: River Jordan Water, Miracle & Healing Water, A New Beginning Mount Camel Miracle Water, Miracle Water from The Pool of Bethsaida (1L), Water of Life, A New Beginning Pool of Bethsaida Water, and Father Smelled Perfume.

In order to find out if there were any records of transactions with Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries and the products in the Delta State Office, NAFDAC, through the Director Post Marketing Surveillance (PMS) NAFDAC, contacted the Delta State Coordinator, according to the statement.

The text goes on to say that the Coordinator was also instructed to visit the Ministry in order to confirm the accuracy of the assertions made in the petitions and to take the appropriate regulatory action on the Ministry’s production facility, which produces Miracle water and other items.

The State Coordinator secretly paid 3,000 naira for a 25-cl bottle of Miracle Water from the Ministries and took the photos. The Mercy Land Ministry had a visit by the State Coordinator Delta State on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, during which they had meetings with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Mr. Ogunleye Fufeyin, Head of Service (HOS).

Despite having proof of purchase receipt in hand, the officials refused to produce Miracle and Healing Water or Soap.

He asserted that they were not the owners of the product—only the address and logo on the label. The HOS continued, saying that the only artificial and spiritual pool they have is a Bethsaida water pool. After requesting time to consult with other staff members, the HOS came back. After thirty minutes, he came back and asked to see the CSO, refusing to comply.

A team from NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement division, along with the Federal Task Force on Unwholesome Processed Foods and Counterfeit and Fake Drugs, visited the Ministry on August 27, 2024, with the intention of starting an investigation into the manufacturing site or the place of purchase to gather samples for laboratory analysis.

However, the officials refused to cooperate with the team. Officials received letters inviting them to report on August 28th, but they were not honored. Instead, on August 28, 2024, the corporation filed a legal document at NAFDAC Headquarters in Abuja. They requested to return on September 3, 2024, to finalize their document before traveling.

The Prophet was then given till the 29th by the Agency to report to the Enforcement NAFDAC Office in Asaba for any additional necessary investigation.

“Examination and Implementation” Based on their prior request to report for the start of an investigation, Asaba waited for the Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries personnel, but they still failed to appear. Instead, they sent certain documents on September 3, 2024, requesting an extension for reporting.

The religion group stated that it had signed a production contract arrangement with Globod Table Water Km 4, DSC Expressway, Otokutu, Delta State, without the knowledge of the NAFDAC State Office in Delta State, in a document that was made accessible to the NAFDAC Office in the evening of September 3. The current laws and regulations pertaining to commercial production prohibit this act.

As part of our ongoing investigation, NAFDAC Investigation and Enforcement has sealed the Globod Table Water plant for encouraging the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of unapproved and unhealthy Miracle Water under the guise of a fictitious NAFDAC registration number.

“It is very evident that Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, KM 5, is not prepared to submit to an inquiry concerning the manufacturing and promotion of purportedly phony, unhealthy, and unregistered “Miracle” goods.

“The public is hereby notified by NAFDAC that none of the products being sold and promoted are registered with NAFDAC.” Additionally, it is recommended that the public cease using any of these Miracle items. Before registering any product, NAFDAC, a scientific organization, makes decisions based on independently verified scientific evidence.

“We will keep looking into this faith organization’s operations in the interim with relation to products that are under our purview and that are allegedly produced and marketed by them. “I want to assure Nigerians of our resolve to continue safeguarding health of the citizens,” I said, using this opportunity to caution either faith organization against the illicit production of regulated goods without necessary regulatory criteria.
