Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been officially charged by a Spanish court in connection with a sex abuse case involving children.
WHAT OCCURRED?
According to sources, Asencio and his former Madrid academy teammates Andres GarcĂa, Ferran Ruiz, and Juan Rodriguez were legally charged by a Gran Canaria court in June 2023 for allegedly taking sexual pictures of two women—one of whom was a minor—and sharing them without the women’s consent.

According to the article, the prosecutor’s office is now able to bring charges and ask for the start of a trial after the judge overseeing the case ordered the formalization of criminal procedures against 22-year-old Asencio and his former teammates. By the way, the four were taken into custody in September 2023, and authorities confiscated their cell phones.
WHICH CRIMES ARE ALLEGED?
The alleged offenses include, but are not limited to, recruiting or using juveniles for pornographic purposes, possessing child pornography, distributing and transferring recordings to third parties without warning or consent to the harmed parties, and discovering secrets without consent and violating privacy.
