Rivers Crisis: Wike’s Billboards Are Destroyed By Irate Protesters.

In honor of Wike, who is being given a lavish greeting by the Ijaw stakeholders under the auspices of NEW Associates, billboards were placed at the intersection heading to Abalama.

The event takes place as Kalabari residents and traditional leaders oppose an IYC Eastern zone meeting that was planned for the same location.

To prevent the Minister from entering the hamlet, hundreds of ladies wearing black clothing and white scarves blocked the route to Abalama early on Saturday morning.

Additionally, the irate women demolished billboards featuring the Minister’s images.

With signs that read, “Kalabari, take your stand now!” and “Wike, what do you want in Kalabari land?” the demonstrators were armed.

Security guards who escorted the FCT Minister to the reception location in Abalama eventually sent the demonstrators away.

Chiefs, leaders, ladies, and young people were thrilled that Wike, whom he referred to as a friend of the kingdom, was coming to Kalabari, according to Dr. Enemi Alabo George, chairman of the grand reception’s publicity committee.

According to George, the occasion was planned in Abalama Town as a magnificent civic reception and Thanksgiving service in recognition of the previous governor’s devotion to the Kalabari Kingdom.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara, an Ijaw native, and Wike are currently engaged in a protracted conflict.
