Dr. Rowland Uchechukwu Igwe, a senior lecturer of the Department of Sociology in the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State, has been suspended for allegedly impregnating a student of the university.
Reacting to this incident, the Management of the University have indefinitely suspended the senior lecturer for being involved in sexual harrasment and for reportedly impregnating a student.
Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, Vice Chancellor of the institution, commenting on the situation said:
“Igwe’s suspension is hinged on an allegation of serial intimidation, sexual harassment and undue canal knowledge of a female undergraduate which resulted in her being impregnated and suffering health complications.”
