SMS Alert Fees At GTBank Have Increased To ₦6.

The pricing for SMS transaction notifications has increased, according to Guaranty Trust Bank, and the new rate will go into effect on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

The price went up from N4 to N6.

“Dear valued customer, please be informed that effective Thursday, May 1, 2025, the SMS transaction alert fee will increase from ₦4 to ₦6 per message,” the bank stated in a notification that was forwarded to our correspondent on Wednesday.

The bank clarified that an increase in telecom service fees was the reason for the pricing change.

The bank clarified that the recent increase in telecom rates, as reported by the telecom service providers, was the reason for this adjustment.

Additionally, GTBank emphasized the value of SMS alerts in assisting clients in keeping an eye on their accounts and quickly identifying any unusual activity.

It stated, “Please take note that transaction alerts are crucial and assist you in monitoring and maintaining control over account activity.”

If clients would rather use other notification methods, the bank has also given them the choice to unsubscribe from SMS alerts.

“You can modify your preferences by filling out the transaction alert form on our website and sending it to [email protected] if you would prefer not to receive transaction alerts via SMS,” the statement continued.

The bank encouraged consumers who needed more information or assistance to contact its dedicated customer service helplines.
