According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results will be made public on Friday, May 9, 2025.
This implies that applicants who took the UTME this year can start reviewing their results on Friday morning.
The board informed The Newsline in Abuja of the situation in an official notice.
According to the statement, “the 2025 UTME release is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, May 9, 2025; Venue: JAMB National Headquarters Bwari Abuja; Time: 8am.”
Data on the performance of the 1.9 million test takers was made available by JAMB prior to the release. The results are startling: more than 1.5 million applicants received scores below 200, which is regarded as the typical norm.
Candidates are tested in four core subjects on the UTME, which has a total score of 400. Although everyone must use English, candidates may select three other disciplines that are pertinent to their planned course of study.
Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, responded to the performance data by stating that it demonstrated the success of government initiatives to prevent exam cheating.”The government’s anti-malpractice measures are working, especially within the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board system,” he stated, citing the high failure rate in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination as unmistakable proof.
