Prince Philip,99 the Duke of Edinburgh and the Husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II reportedly passed on Friday, April 9 at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Edinburgh who was to celebrate his 100th Birthday on the 10th of June, 2021, was admitted to the hospital mid-February for a pre-existing heart condition.

Below are interesting facts about Prince Philip you probably didn’t know about:

1.)  He was born into Greek Royal family in 1921 but later exiled from Greek and eventually lived in England.

2.) He was the only son and youngest child of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.

3.) Prince Philip got married to Queen Elizabeth  in 1947.

4.) In the Royal Navy, he was a Commander but eventually left the armed forces on his wife’s rise.

5.) On his 90th birthday, in 2011 Queen Elizabeth bestowed on him the title and office of lord high admiral, the titular head of the Royal Navy
