The Grammy-winning Nigerian musician Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, is the first African performer to reach 20 billion global audio on-demand streams.
The international music tracking tool Chart Masters reports that he recently accomplished the goal when the total number of streaming for both his lead and feature songs reached 20 billion.
Drake, a Canadian superstar, and Wizkid collaborated on the song “One Dance,” which has received the most streams.
The song is the first to achieve one billion Spotify plays, with over 3.628 billion plays and a Guinness World Record.
After achieving one billion audio on-demand streams in the UK, Wizkid became the first African artist to win the Brit Billion Award.
With more than 65 million copies sold globally, he is the best-selling Afrobeats musician.
