Reuters, July 4, 2018, in GILIMANUK, Indonesia: About 35 hours after a ferry sank, killing at least six people, Indonesian rescuers are still searching for 30 people at sea, but they are having difficulty navigating strong currents on Friday, according to officials.
According to search and rescue agency official Ribut Eko Suyatno, the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya sank Wednesday night just 30 minutes after departing East Java for the vacation island of Bali, carrying 65 passengers, all of whom were Indonesian.
On Thursday, 29 individuals were saved before the search was canceled because of the bad visibility.
According to Dayu Made Silawati, 55, her husband, Dewa Gede Adyana Putra Usia, was taking the ferry to Bali to get supplies for his truck driving profession.
She stated the last time she spoke to him was Wednesday night as she was waiting for news at a rescue center in Bali.
