Four permanent secretaries have been redeployed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in accordance with continuous initiatives to fortify Federal Civil Service operations and realign it for increased effectiveness and service delivery.
The impacted permanent secretaries and their new assignments were detailed in a statement released Tuesday by Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations: The Permanent Secretary who will retire on May 7, 2025, will be understudied by Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in the Ministry of Regional Development; Faruk Yusuf Yabo from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy at the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development; Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources; and Mr. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam from the Special Duties Office, OHCSF to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The Federation’s Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, stressed that the redeployment was a standard administrative procedure intended to revitalize the civil service by utilizing the experience of senior officials in vital areas.
The impacted Permanent Secretaries were encouraged to use their extensive knowledge to their new positions in order to guarantee smooth service delivery and continued advancement in their ministries.
The instructions further said that all taking-over and handover procedures must be finished by May 2, 2025, at the latest.
A world-class civil service that promotes national growth and maintains the greatest levels of professionalism is something the federal government is still dedicated to, the statement said.
