UPDATE: Abducted Auxillary Bishop, Driver Regain Their Freedom

Recall that the Auxillary Bishop of Owerri Achdiocese, Most Rev. Doc. Moses Chikwe, and his driver, Ndubuisi Robert, where abducted on the 27th of December, 2020 while they were driving along World Bank – Umuguma road in Imo state.

However, it is reported that both the Bishop and driver have regained their freedom.

Confirming their safe release , the spokesperson of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the clergyman and his driver were released unhurt and without any ransom paid. Ikeowku said this was sequel to a sting operation by the men of the Imo State Police Command.

The Bishop’s driver was however rushed to the hospital after their release so he could receive treatment for a deep cut inflicted on him by their abductors.
