Over 15 people were killed in Kebbi State when people from the Mera village fought with the new terrorist group Lakurawa.
It is said that the new group works in the Sahel and has ties to ISIS.
According to reports, the crisis started when terrorists from the Lakurawa group met a local herder and tried to steal his animals.
How it began
“The herder ran to the community and called for help. People in the community marched to the scene of the crime and fought the terrorists, killing 15 and hurting many more.”
“The locals were able to kill some of the terrorists and hurt others.”
“But the terrorists who were still alive took their dead and left.”
An eyewitness said, “The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State paid a condolence visit to the people of Mera. He was with the Commissioner of Police and the Emir of Argungu.”
On Saturday, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, the governor of Kebbi State,’s media adviser, stated over the phone that the terrorist group was active in some parts of the state.
He said that the government was doing everything they could to stop the Lakurawa from being a threat.
