Akanji Oluwaseyi the 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 13-years. December 30, 2020, his arrest confirming to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that Oluwaseyi was arrested after his daughter reported his act to the police at Obantoko Division in Abeokuta Ogun state
The police voice-person declared that the stripling was promptly taken to a hospital for medical attention. He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
Oyeyemi said the teenager had told the police that her father came to a shop, where she was an apprentice learning tailoring, and had pleaded with her mistress to permit her to come and fetch water for him at home. He said that the girl left her mistress’s shop to do what her father requested from her, only to be shocked when her father suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
“On the strength of the report, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Obantoko division, CSP Sunday Opebiyi quickly sent detectives to the suspect’s house, where he was promptly arrested. He initially denied the allegation, but when he was confronted by his daughter, he became dumbfounded,” Oyeyemi said
