In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner for Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development Dr. Idris Salako was quoted by a spokesman saying it has sealed off additional 42 buildings in Lekki to curb the tragedy of building collapse as some of the buildings do not also have building permit.
The event which started off on Tuesday in lekki phase 1 sealed of 19 buildings and as at Thursday has sealed up 42 buildings in total.
He said:
“This explains why we must stop those who are bent on jeopardising the Operative Development Plans of Lagos State by not tolerating any form of illegal physical development,”
He urged owners of properties in lekki phase 1 to ensure they comply with the physical planning laws of Lagos State to avoid the scenario of their properties been sealed and also urged those whose properties were sealed to ensure they perfect their documents also.
