An Anti-Graft Agency Boss In Equatorial Guinea Was Fired After Being Tied To Sex Tapes

Zenón Obiang Obiang Avomo has been named the new Director General of the National Agency for Financial Investigation by Equatorial Guinea’s President, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

After a shocking sex scandal involving public officials, he took over for Baltasar Ebang Engonga.

In a news story released Thursday, a news organization in Equatorial Guinea called Ahora EG said this.

Local news site Real Equatorial Guinea also said that Engonga was fired because he “committed irregularities in the exercise of his functions” and “unsuitable family and social conduct for the performance of public functions,” as stated in Decree number 118/2024, dated November 4.

Engonga was arrested on suspicion of recording more than 400 sexy movies with the wives of important people in Equatorial Guinea, which led to the change in leadership.

Reports say that the tapes were found during an unplanned search by ANIF agents who were looking into money problems involving Engonga, a famous economist.

Zenón Obiang Obiang Avomo has a law degree from the National University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE). He has been a Magistrate Judge at the Institution of Malabo, Director General of Contract Studies and State Markets at the Ministry of Finance and Budgets, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Planning, and Secretary General of Mines, Industry, and Energy, among other jobs, according to Ahora EG.

Over 400 sex tapes of Engonga with different women were found by the police. The women on the tapes included the wives of ministers, police officers, and even the sister of the President.

The tapes, which were supposedly recorded with the women’s permission, were found during a raid on Engonga’s office and then made public online, which made people very angry.
