The marriage of actress Annie Idibia and Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has recently been the subject of intense public debate.
On January 26, 2025, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba or 2Face, announced his divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia, on his Instagram page.
Friends, coworkers, and well-wishers of Annie Idibia have taken it personally to express their strong feelings on the issue, which they believe has existed for a long time, in the wake of his announcement.
Nollywood producer Mary Remmy Njoku expressed a strong viewpoint that appeared to be a danger to 2Baba:
“Annie has a family, bro.” There are a lot of your sisters-in-law. We’ve kept quiet out of respect for her difficult decisions, but because you’ve chosen to make fun of her while she’s at her lowest, no wahala. You have an option. “Nobody is asking anybody to stay in a situation that’s not serving them any purpose, by all means leave, but why bring this online at this very moment,” media personality Toke Makinwa had previously stated on her Instagram page. The world is unaware of what goes on behind closed doors, but we are aware of it. Opinions are already circulating, and I’m not referring to the entire public when I say that we will battle for her.
Actually, it seems like the majority of female Nigerian celebs were prepared to dress up for Annie.
Iyabo Ojo wrote, “Ko ni dafu hackers,” in response to 2face’s remark regarding the divorce case. This happened after internet users believed that the singer’s account had been compromised.
When Sheyishay wrote, “I hope Annie is okay wherever she is?” she expressed her worry for Annie Idibia.
Such a story from a well-known celebrity couple would be impossible without the responses of internet users. “Don’t you think those who are speaking out on Annie’s behalf know what’s happening behind closed doors?” asked one internet user. If these ladies are speaking up, it indicates that they know a lot more than we do because they are not stupid and don’t often speak about things that don’t affect them.

“All I can say is Annie saw the red flags, the humiliations etc and was hell bent to be with Tubaba, she was obsessed with him and it’s safe to say she didn’t love herself enough. “I wish people actually knew how 2face had actually had to ‘fight’ his own family to keep this marriage,” said Muyenyen1, who expressed a different perspective on the subject.
