The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), in Ondo State, has denounced the dismissal of five union members from various universities.
ASUU Chairman Dr. Rotimi Olorunisola of the OAUSTECH chapter revealed to reporters on Wednesday in Okitipupa that the Governing Councils of Lagos State University (LASU), Kogi State University (KSU), and Ebonyi State University (EBSU) had “illegally” dismissed several teachers.
According to Olorunisola, these institutions’ actions violated not only the due process that must be followed when terminating academic staff members, but also the autonomy of the academic profession.
