A very tragic accident took place along the Tombia-Ammassoma Road In Bayelsa State which involved a 14 seater passenger bus and a diesel laden truck which was said to be conveying products to a construction site.
Twelve people were unfortunately burnt to death following this incident where nine were burnt instantly on the spot and four died on arrival at a hospital in Okolobiri.
Eye witnesses said “
the bus and diesel truck collided and bus burst into flames.Everybody in the bus was trapped and burnt beyond recognition.Four persons rushed to the hospital gave up the ghost “
Following an investigation, it was said that the accident was caused by the diesel truck driver’s speeding.
” we believe the truck driver removed the plate number and escaped from the scene of the accident. But the passenger bus carries plate number VA6243″ FRSC officials said.
