Big Blow As Jordan Ayew misses Crystal Palace Game Against Everton After Contracting COVID-19

The Black Stars of Ghana’s national football team are set to be without Jordan Ayew for the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs with Nigeria after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Ayew, a key player for Ghana and also a key player for Crystal Palace, was left out of Palace‘s squad in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final game against Everton at Selhurst Park.

The 31-year-old likely to make the Ghana squad for the World Cup playoff will be unable to travel back home for the crucial game.

Andre Ayew has been ruled out of the game due to suspension and his brother testing positive for the COVID-19 will be a major blow to the Ghana team.

Jordan Ayew was initially named in the Palace squad ahead of the game but was dropped after tests confirmed he was positive.

Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp was also left out of the team.

Schlupp missed the game due to the accumulation of cards and is expected to travel to Ghana for the World Cup playoff.

The duo has been named in Ghana’s squad for the World Cup playoff against Nigeria on March 25 and 29.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo is expected to name his squad for the game in the coming days as the team begins.

Players invited are expected to be in camp on Monday before the team jets off to Kumasi on Tuesday.

Premier League players are expected to self isolate for 10 days but it is possible for an individual to come out of self-isolation after five days, provided they have two negative lateral flow tests, 24 hours apart.
