On Wednesday evening, Prof. Babagana Zulum, Borno State Governor’s convoy was intercepted by unknown gunmen enroute Baga.
It was gathered that the Governor was on a mission to give palliatives to the IDPs so that they could celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir, when the incident happened.
According to a source:
“Fortunately the convoy cleared them with two vigilante and a policeman wounded in the crossfire.
“The convoy has since returned to Monguno town to forestall any other attack on the dreadful road.”
All attempts to get confirmation from the government side has proven unsuccessful as the Borno State Commissioner hasnt responded yet to any calls.
