Church Denies Video As Manipulated, Despite Chosen Member’s Claims Of Miraculously Rescued From Kidnappers By Lion

According to a member of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, he was miraculously rescued from kidnappers by a lion.

In a video that went viral on Monday, the member offered his story. “Something touched my back, lifted me like an aeroplane, and carried me to the expressway,” he described in his account. I turned to see what had carried me when I landed, and it was a lion. The lion then lifted a paw, gestured for me to follow, and bid me farewell.

A female Chosen member made a similar allegation in a testimonial that went viral, claiming that she miraculously grabbed their AK-47 guns and arrested three of the criminals. A second male member related how he managed to escape a kidnapping, gunshot wounds, and machete attacks “without injury.”

Online criticism of these remarkable testimony erupted, with many Nigerians accusing the church of arranging the incidents.

As a result, others started making fun of the testimony on social media, creating the “I Am a Chosen Challenge.”

Liberate Africa, a user on X.com, tweeted, “This chosen issue is both tragic and funny,” with the hashtag #DamilojuJLT. It’s insane. When people think that lions are now carrying humans, how can science advance? I’m disappointed by this.

“If the God of Chosen is really doing these things, even the attackers would be joining the church to testify,” tweeted #Chuc__kki.

The Lord’s Chosen Church rejected the viral videos on Tuesday in reaction to the uproar, asserting that they had been altered.

The video, according to Pastor Chidi Louis, the church’s head of media and public relations, is an intentional attempt to disparage their work.

“To hear the whole testimony, Nigerians should go to the church’s platform. For example, the woman’s testimony described a dream rather than an actual occurrence. Louis claimed, “The video was manipulated to deceive viewers.

He denounced bloggers for tampering with the video, branding them as “wicked and devilish” for making fun of God’s creation.

The public was advised by the church to ignore the widely shared videos and confirm witness accounts via recognized means.

The church has already encountered criticism about claims of miracles.

A member testified in 2018 that she never ran out of petrol after putting a “I am a Chosen” sticker on her fuel tank.

Another participant asserted that a tag on her gas cylinder implied she would never require a refill for a period of years.
