Dimeji Ajibola, the famous Nigerian director who made the hit TV show Shanty Town, has died.
He died today after a long illness that was not made public. He will be missed by his fans around the world and in the Nigerian film business.
This was said by his coworker Samuel Olatunji in a message to Tribune Online that confirmed the story.
People in the entertainment business praised Ajibola as a creative force and an innovator for the way he combined traditional and digital art forms in new and innovative ways.
Film, animation, VFX, virtual worlds, and digital media were all parts of his work.
Among other things, he learned how to make movies and take good pictures at the New York Film Academy in Universal Studios and how to do advanced character animation at Animation Mentor in San Francisco.
